Edwin Lee & Partners provides legal advice and services strictly within the scope of engagement as mutually agreed in writing between our firm and our client. Any information shared via our website, email, WhatsApp, messaging platforms or other informal channels is for general reference only and does not constitute legal advice unless it falls within the terms of an active and formal engagement.

2. Confidentiality and Privilege

All communications from Edwin Lee & Partners, including via email, WhatsApp, or other messaging platforms, are intended solely for the named recipient and may contain confidential and legally privileged information. While we take reasonable measures to maintain confidentiality, the nature of electronic communication means security cannot be fully guaranteed. If you are not the intended recipient, please notify us immediately, refrain from reading further, and permanently delete the message or email. Any unauthorised use, copying, disclosure, or distribution is strictly prohibited and may be unlawful.

Clients are reminded to verify payment instructions, bank details, or unusual requests by contacting us directly through official channels. Edwin Lee & Partners will not be liable for losses resulting from fraud or misrepresentation by unauthorised third parties.

Edwin Lee & Partners reserves the right to amend, update, or revise this disclaimer at any time and the most current version will be available on our official website or upon request. Continued use of our services, communications, or website following any changes constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of the updated disclaimer.

Responsibilities of Executor:

  • Apply for and extract the grant of probate.
  • Make arrangements for the funeral of the deceased.
  • Collect and make an accurate inventory of the deceased’s assets.
  • Settling the debts and obligations of the deceased.
  • Distributing the assets.

Note for Digital Executor:
If you wish to leave your digital assets to certain people in your Will, there are important steps that need to be taken to ensure that your wishes can be carried out:

  • Keep a note of specific instructions on how to access your username and password of your digital asset.
  • You are advised to store these private and confidential information in a USB stick, password management tool or write them down.
  • Please inform your executor or a trusted person of the whereabouts of the tools so that they will have access to your digital asset.
