Eileen Yew

Eileen graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hans) from the University of London in 2019 and completed her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2022. She then commenced her pupillage at the Firm under the guidance of the Deputy Managing Partner of the Firm, Mr. Edwin Lee. Eileen was called to the Bar and admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in March 2023. Upon admission, she continues to explore and enhance her legal knowledge in the areas of corporate and commercial.

Throughout her 9 months pupillage, Eileen has handled various corporate matters, mainly in the drafting, reviewing and amending of various types of corporate and commercial agreements as well as in the conducting of legal due diligence. Eileen also had the chance to deal with corporate compliance matters, namely data protection, anti-money laundering and matters relating to employment.

“Prevention is better than cure” is what Eileen holds on to as a corporate lawyer. Before joining the Firm, Eileen had the chance to join a well-known company secretarial firm in Bukit Jalil as an intern. Throughout the internship, she discovered there is lacking of awareness in the importance of having proper agreements in place before things could go wrong/relationships turn sour, especially amongst the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia. Therefore, Eileen is committing in assisting the clients, especially SMEs to protect their interests.

Apart from legal works, Eileen is a huge fan of outdoor activities and she enjoys hiking and camping. Eileen believes that work is only part of our life, so go out and have some fun as “you only live once”.
